About

Every federal career is unique. No matter where you are, the right knowledge and strategy can empower you to stand up for your rights, make informed decisions, and find peace at work.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Lydia Taylor

I fight for federal employees.

For years, I’ve watched how hardworking employees dedicate their careers to public service, only to be met with retaliation, discrimination, and unfair treatment by the very agencies they serve. I know what it’s like to feel silenced, railroaded, or pushed out, and I’ve made it my mission to level the playing field.

As an employment attorney and former HR director, I bring a unique perspective to federal workplace rights. I know how the system works—because I’ve seen it from the inside. I use my background in HR, law, and federal labor relations to help employees navigate challenges, protect their careers, and reclaim their power.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or just don’t know where to start, know this: you don’t have to fight alone.

My Story

I didn’t set out to be an advocate for federal employees, but looking back, it was a perfect fit.

Before becoming an attorney, I spent years as an HR director for multiple school districts, where I witnessed firsthand how employees were often mistreated by management or simply didn’t know how to advocate for their own rights. I saw how a lack of knowledge and support left employees vulnerable, and how agencies often weaponized policies against the very people they were supposed to protect.

That experience lit a fire in me.

I realized that I didn’t just want to interpret policies—I wanted to fight back against them when they were being abused. So I went to law school and took everything I knew about HR, employment rights, and workplace power dynamics to stand up for employees instead of enforcing policies against them.

Now, as a federal employment attorney, I use that experience to empower employees facing discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and whistleblower reprisal. I’ve represented federal employees before the EEOC, MSPB, and OFO, securing justice for those who thought they had no options left.

Because here’s the truth: the system is not set up in your favor. But with the right knowledge and the right advocate, you can help turn the tables.

"Shaun Southworth and his team assisted me at every step of the way. Whether it was medical evidence or agency paperwork, nothing was overlooked or submitted late. It was an arduous process, but Southworth PC handled the details, saving me so much anxiety and stress. I am forever grateful!"

Why I Do It

I believe that hard work should be rewarded—not punished.

I’ve seen too many dedicated federal employees lose their jobs, careers, and peace of mind because of agency politics, unchecked management power, and a system that makes it too easy to push employees out. That’s why I stand in the gap—between employees and agency leadership, between fairness and abuse of power, between injustice and the fight for what’s right.

I do this work because you deserve better. You deserve a workplace where your rights are protected, your service is valued, and your career is built on merit—not retaliation, bias, or discrimination.

If you’re feeling trapped in a hostile work environment, being unfairly targeted, or unsure what your next move should be, let’s talk. Because you don’t have to do this alone.
