My Story

I’ve always believed in the power of hard work and fairness. As the first in my family to graduate from college, I didn’t get here because of privilege—I got here because the merit system saw potential in me and I went from a double wide trailer to Duke Law, and now run a growing law firm representing federal employees. Identified by my teachers and standardized test scores, I was given opportunities that changed my life. That’s why I’m passionate about protecting the Merit System and standing up for civil rights.

After law school, I saw firsthand how some federal employees—dedicated professionals who serve our country—were too often mistreated, pushed out, or silenced for doing the right thing. I knew I had to fight for them. Over the years, I’ve helped hundreds of federal employees challenge unfair treatment, defend their rights, and reclaim their careers.

But I also know that winning a case isn’t enough—peace of mind matters, too. As a mindfulness practitioner, I’ve seen how mindfulness can transform stress into clarity, fear into confidence, and uncertainty into action. That’s why I wrote Finding Peace at Work and launched The Mindful Workplace Podcast—to help federal employees not just survive, but thrive.
